Szenes from from a documentary of Jörg Adolph and Gereon Wetzel (2016, 52 Min.)
As a a young man the great Spanish director Carlos Saura did not quite know, what he would like to become: motorcycle racer, flamenco dancer or photographer? 60 years, 40 films and numerous film awards later, his passion for photography runs like a thread through his life. The publishers Gerhard Steidl and Hans Meinke set out to publish the largely unknown photo oevre of Carlos Saura in book form. In doing so, they discover an early work phase which reveals Spain of the Fifties in a new light.
A documentary which shows how a photo book evolves and simply follows „real characters“ at work.

BEAUTY FOR THE MOMENT (10 Min.)
Video by Jörg Adolph for the exhibition Robert Frank: Books and Films, 1947–2016, based on a text by Alex Rühle. Conceived by Robert Frank and Gerhard Steidl the exhibition presents Frank’s iconic images within the wider context of his work – all printed on newspaper.
